How To Remove Scratches From Your Glasses

Don’t call the world dirty because you forgot to clean your glasses.

How to remove scratches

1. Cleaning your glasses
The first step is to clean the surface of your lenses to see where the scratches actually are. Make sure to use a cleaner (specifically for glasses) and a clean micro-fiber cloth. Check out our video for more information on how to clean your glasses.

2. Scratch remover
The next step is to apply scratch remover to your lenses.  Start by dabbing non-abrasive toothpaste on the scratched lens and rub it gently with a cotton bud or ball. To remove the toothpaste, you’ll need to rinse the lens with cool water. If the scratch is deep, you might need to repeat this process a few times. Alternatively, if you don’t have non-abrasive toothpaste, you can also use baking soda and water. Mix equal parts of soda and water until you achieve the same consistency as toothpaste and apply onto the lens in the same way.

3. Scratch filling
You now need to apply a scratch filling product if scratches remain. If the scratches still persist, you can apply a product that will fill the scratches temporarily. Simply rub wax onto the lens with a clean micro-fiber cloth and then wipe it off with a clean area of the cloth. You need to re-apply the wax once a week for the best results.

4. Pop your glasses back on
You should be able to see much better through your newly repaired glasses.
